Our 100 acre horse facility has been created with a safe, comfortable, and stress-free environment uppermost in our minds. It includes: 4 Barns - Hare Barn, Training Barn, West Barn (multi-purpose), and Isolation Barn. There are 49 stalls (34 open out to pens) - each stall is 12x12 (12x24 foaling stalls), each with a heated waterer and rubber floor mats:
a 72x120 indoor arena; a 80x200 outdoor arena1 pasture and turn-out areas with V-Mesh
or 4 Board fencing.
Fire prevention and safety are, again, an active concern here. We have 4 Fire Stations within a 15 mile radius. with a 5 minute response time from our station. Monthly checks of all Fire Extinguishers and yearly inspection and service are a regular practice. The tire Chief is kept advised of the locations of all horses and 1s familiar with our evacuation plan, as are our employees. Storage of combustible materials (hay, grain, bedding materials, etc.) are kept in a special building, well away from the barns.
Every aspect of your horses stay with S-Par is individually monitored. Frequent checks of all horses, pastures, and barns are made throughout the day. Regular grooming of stalled horses, through weekly grooming for horses in pasture, routine clipping, and weekly checks by the farrier are a part of our standard routine. A report card is sent to owners on a regular basis to let them know how their horses are cominq along. Our feeding program is constantly monitored and reviewed by our veterinarian. Horses are fed three to four times a day and only the best quality feeds available are used. In addition, we have a fully equipped Artificial Insemination/Breeding Lab adjacent to the Breeding Building which contains a special holding area for foals. The mares and foals are attended one on one, during breeding, A.I., or other needed services.
A late evening check of all horses, barns and pastures is done by us or a Staff Member EVERY NIGHT. Mares approaching parturition are carefully monitored, by us and the Staff, to insure the health and safety of your mare and foal. The Staff also lives on the farm and is readily available at all times. Should the need arise, our veterinary services, only a short distance away are on 24 Hour Call.
